Honoring Jim “White Fox” Bates

Students, faculty and staff are invited to attend a reception honoring Elder Jim “White Fox” Bates, one of the first Native Americans to graduate from the UW School of Social Work with his MSW degree in 1964. The event takes place on Thursday, April 4 at 5 p.m., School of Social Work, Room 305.

Honoring Black artistry

Observe Black History Month at the School of Social Work's new art exhibit: Celebration of African American Quilting. Dean Michael Spencer will open the exhibit on Feb. 16 in the First Floor Gallery at 11 a.m. for a reception recognizing local quilters attending the event. Light refreshments.
