Financial Aid

The University of Washington School of Social Work understands the financial challenges that students face to attend school. We offer some support through SSW research and scholar fellowships and links to additional funding resources through our scholarship page.

Do the Research -There are an assortment of federal, institutional and private resources available to help students finance their education. Eligibility for these funds is in many cases based on an applicants demonstrated financial need, therefore we encourage you to submit your FAFSA by the priority deadline.

2012-13 Financial Aid

The 2012-13 FAFSA is available as of January 1, 2012. The UW's priority deadline for filing the FAFSA is February 28. Don't wait until the last minute - file early. You may use estimated taxes if you or your parents have not yet filed your taxes for 2011. The UW's school code is 003798. Your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) should be completed by February 22 and must be dated as received by the federal processor by February 28, 2011. The "University of Washington-Seattle", Code # is 003798.


Reminders

  • Financial need is based upon the total amount of student tuition and living expenses minus the expected student contribution.
  • Financial aid awards are not automatically renewed; all continuing financial aid recipients must reapply for financial aid each academic year.
  • The allocation of these resources is contingent upon student eligibility and the availability of funds.
