Call for 2014 Nominations

Now is your chance to nominate and recognize a UW School of Social Work graduate for his or her outstanding contribution to the field. This unique recognition celebrates outstanding, distinctive and innovative work in diverse communities. 

To qualify for the University of Washington School of Social Work 2014 Distinguished Alumnus/Alumna Award, the nominee must demonstrate exceptional service, social innovation or professional leadership--locally, nationally or internationally in one or more of the following:

• Social work administration
• Scholarship and research
• Education
• Direct practice
• Advocacy
• Social policy
• Community and public service

Nominees at all stages of their careers will be considered for this award of distinction.

To nominate, please

• Submit a letter describing the nominee’s achievements and highlighting his or her record of distinction, including awards, milestones and successes.
• Include the names, addresses, phone numbers, and/or e-mail addresses of three individuals (not necessarily alumni) who support your nomination and can comment knowledgeably about the nominee’s qualifications.

This year's winner will be recognized at the School’s Graduation Celebration in June. Recent past distinguished alumni include Wendy Lustbader, Norman Johnson, Ken Weinberg, Eric Pettigrew, Leah De Roulet, Perry Wien, Joe Bell and James Kelly.
