Henry Maier, a 1958 recruit to the School's newly minted doctoral program, was an innovative and exciting teacher who inspired students, colleagues and community practitioners, particularly in the field of child development. One of Henry's great gifts was to integrate a sense of meaningful play into everyday life and learning. The practitioner-in-resident program was created to honor Henry Maier's many talents with a lecture-and-workshop series designed to enhance skills and improve social work practice in our communities. The 2013 Henry Maier Practitioner-in-Residence is Matthew Selekman, MSW, LCSW, family therapist and addictions counselor in private practice and the co-director of Partners for Collaborative Solutions. |
