Professional and research interests: Amanda Gilman is a doctoral candidate in the school of social work whose area of interest includes prevention science, the etiology of antisocial behaviors, juvenile and criminal justice policies and practices, mental health, and quantitative research methods. For the past three years she has been funded as a Pre-Doctoral Prevention Research Trainee under the National Institute of Mental Health. Her dissertation explores the role of juvenile incarceration through the life course, examining the early childhood predictors and long-term consequences of varied patterns of incarceration in adolescence.
