As part of the School of Social Work building upgrades, the wall in 305 will be replaced with a motorized divider. The 305 wall replacement is a multi-month process due to demolition of the current wall, building ceiling supports and completing the wall installation. The wall in 306 does not require extensive demolition and construction but will mirror the same construction schedule. During winter break (Dec. 12, 2016 –  Jan. 2, 2017) both divider walls will be demolished and ceiling supports put in place and the area repainted. The new walls will be installed during spring break (March 13 – 26, 2017).

Our goal with the renovation is minimize noise and disruption and to allow use of the facilities without any downtime during the academic quarters. This construction schedule provides access to the spaces when needed and maximizes construction during break periods. The rooms cannot be divided for winter quarter, limiting the functionality of the space. By spring quarter, full functionality will resume. In addition to the walls, we will also be replacing the blinds in both spaces to better help with light control and heat during the summer.

If you have questions, please contact Vicki Anderson-Ellis. if you need to reserve the rooms, please send an email to sswadmin@uw.edu.
