The UW School of Public Health has selected MSW/SPH degree candidate Farah Mohamed as the 2016 Global Health Outstanding Student (masters level). This award recognizes one master’s and one doctoral student from the outstanding student nominees from departments that make up the UW School of Public Health who excel in scholarship, commitment to public health beyond their research, and exhibit potential for leadership in public health. Says Farah: “This recognition gives me a great motivation to become the social change agent that I aspire to be. I’m very grateful for the support from the School of Social Work and Department of Global Health. [They] gave me an environment that I could successfully thrive in and realize my potential. I cannot exhaust the names of the most supportive people in my academic life in the School of Social Work; however, I would like to appreciate J'May Rivara for her outstanding support.”
