Redefining what's possible.
Building Human Capacity for Change
In 2004, the School of Social Work formed a powerful partnership with Cambodia's Royal University in Phnom Penh (RUPP). This innovative program first provided Cambodian social workers graduate-level training so that they could return home and staff their university’s first social work department.
The School continues to mentor the flourishing faculty, which welcomed its 2011 cohort of freshman social work students – all highly motivated and ready to rebuild the human infrastructure of their war-torn country.
"It is not so often that one person is able to make such a difference in the development of a country. Tracy Harachi has had a huge impact and has helped to build an institution that contributes directly to peace, reconciliation and prosperity in Cambodia."
CAROL RODLEY, FORMER U.S. AMBASSADOR TO CAMBODIA
