Kim Justice named P4C public policy director

The School of Social Work is thrilled to welcome Kim Justice as the director of public policy for Partners for Our Children. In this role, Justice will lead efforts to influence public policy, will serve as a consultant to the SSW leadership team on matters of public policy, and interface between the Washington State Legislature and UW’s offices of state and federal relations.

Special screening of Bad River documentary

On November 23, the University of Washington Alumni Association will present a special screening of Bad River, a critically acclaimed new documentary film narrated by Quannah ChasingHorse and Academy-Award nominee Edward Norton. Michelle Johnson-Jennings, a professor at the UW School of Social Work and executive co-director of the Indigenous Wellness Research Institute, appears in the film.

Natalie Turner wins Martha H. Duggan Fellowship in Caring Labor

The University of Washington’s Harry Bridges Center for Labor Studies awarded Natalie Turner, a third-year Ph.D. student at the UW School of Social Work, with the 2024-2025 Martha H. Duggan Fellowship in Caring Labor. The fellowship annually awards recipients $10,000 to be applied to tuition costs or provide support for living expenses, books, fees and other educational expenses.
