Fieldwork

Our BASW program provides you with the hands-on skills you need to become a social work professional. As a BASW student, you will participate in two social work internships, providing you with a a supportive learning environment, a field instructor to provide encouragement and guidance, and invaluable work experience to add to your resume. Junior year, students serve at a local agency for 4-6 hours a week during winter and spring quarter. They also participate in an accompanying seminar course. During Autumn, Winter, and Spring of their senior year, students spend 2 days per week (16 hours) at a field site. They are supervised by an MSW and build skills in micro, mezzo, and macro levels of social work. For details, see Field Education.
