Traineeships
Our training programs and partnerships provide students with the opportunity to explore various fields of social work, including behavioral health, international social work, child welfare, and oncology medical social work. These unique training programs offer students specialized skill-building and support to help them reach their professional goals.
Carol LaMare Scholars Program
This highly recognized program prepares MSW students to practice delivering supportive care to people impacted by cancer, life-limiting illnesses, and people who are at the end of life.
Workforce for student well-being (WSW)
WSW is a conditional-grant program for graduate-level students interested in pursuing school-based social work in Washington state’s high-need K-12 public or tribal schools.
Latinx Communities Traineeship
The Social Work Practice with Latinx Communities offers targeted skill-building for advanced MSW students committed to the health and well-being of Latinx communities.
Child Welfare Training and Advancement (CWTAP)
CWTAP promotes training excellence for Washington state’s child welfare workforce through the financial support of social work students and professionals. This state-funded partnership links the resources of UW School of Social Work, Alliance for Child Welfare Excellence and the state’s Department of Children, Youth and Families (DCYF).
Behavioral Health Workforce Development Initiative (WDI)
