Remembering Nancy Amidei: A Trail Blazing Force for Social Change
Nancy Amidei, senior lecturer emeritus with the University of Washington School of Social Work, died peacefully at her home on April 8th after a long battle with blood cancer. Arden Hellman, assistant director of Office of Field Education, honors Nancy’s legacy of advocacy and civic engagement in an open letter, which you can read here.
Barb Woods, cherished staff member and esteemed grants manager, died Oct. 10.
Barb Woods, a 26-year School of Social Work veteran, passed away in her sleep on Oct. 10, 2024, age 71. Barb started her professional career at the UW in 1982 before joining the School of Social Work as a grants manager in the Office of the Dean.
