Our world-class faculty creates an exciting, enriched and empowered space for learning, research and service—nine members have been honored with the UW Distinguished Teaching Award and 12 were elected to the American Academy of Social Work and Social Welfare. Highly diverse and widely recognized, our faculty bring a scientific perspective to some of the most pressing social issues of our day, along with a deep commitment to nurturing culturally competent and skilled social work professionals. 

Mary Grembowski Staff Recognition Award - call for nominations

The Mary Grembowski Staff Recognition Award is given in appreciation of the contributions, talents and diversity of staff in our School and will be handed out at the School’s end of the year event.

Each spring nominations for the Mary Grembowski Staff Recognition Award are solicited from the School of Social Work community.

Remembering Nancy Amidei: A Trail Blazing Force for Social Change

Nancy Amidei, senior lecturer emeritus with the University of Washington School of Social Work, died peacefully at her home on April 8th after a long battle with blood cancer.
