December 13, 2018

January is traditionally a time of reflection, when people resolve to improve or change behaviors. See how artists conceptualize that tradition in “New Resolutions,” the first art exhibit of the new year. The exhibit opens Jan. 2 in the School of Social Work’s First Floor Gallery.

“New Resolutions” features artists from Vibrant Palette Arts Center, a program that serves adults with developmental, mental and physical disabilities. About three dozen works of art in a variety of media will be on display through Mar. 15.

Vibrant Palette helps individuals learn about the creative process and hone their creative skills in a day program. Participants are provided with a professional studio setting with time for painting and working in clay. Guest teachers and outings to local galleries and museums round out the program. With its focus on learning about and creating art, Vibrant Palette offers a safe and inclusive environment where artists can share their unique voices and practice their craft.

“New Resolutions” is sponsored by CascadiaNow!, 4Culture and the School of Social Work.

Exhibit opening:  Join us for the opening reception on Tues., Jan. 8 from 4:30 p.m. – 6 p.m. Everyone is invited.
