Abstract:
The Stress Check is a free, private, and confidential/anonymous opportunity for active duty military service members to discuss concerns about reactions to a traumatic event with a study counselor. The Stress Check is not a treatment program, but a chance for service members to check in and explore their options. Everything is done over the phone with a Stress Check team member. Participants can earn up to $200 for completing all steps of the study. UW Stress Check is a University of Washington study, funded by the Department of Defense. Military command has no access to the names or information of service members who call and/or participate in Stress Check.
