Preventing HIV among Native Americans through the treatment PTSD & substance use

This study proposes a 5-year two-arm randomized comparative effectiveness trial to evaluate prevention of HIV sexual risk behavior by directly addressing PTSD using Narrative Exposure Therapy (NET) or substance use though Motivational interviewing with skill training (MIST) among 200 AI men and women 16 years or older living on or near the a rural reservation.
