Charissa Q Armstrong
Statewide Foundational Learning Coordinator
Alliance for Child Welfare Excellence
As the Statewide Foundational Training Coordinator, Charissa works to improve the transfer of
learning by spearheading the Regional Core Training scheduling and logistics for DCYF workforce
caregivers, kinship providers, and Tribal members. She is a resource and support to Alliance and
contracted trainers. Charissa prioritizes helping the children, youth, families and communities of
Washington state.
Charissa joined the Alliance in September 2021 as an Event Planner. In November 2021, she
received the Alliance “Outstanding Newcomer Award” for successfully executing two large virtual
events in an abbreviated time and learning new applications on the fly.
Charissa earned a Bachelor of Science in English from the University of Massachusetts – Lowell in
2021 and became certified in Professional Technical Writing from the University of Washington in
2019.
When she is not at The Alliance, you can find Charissa out and about in Seattle, cooking something
up in the kitchen, doing a HIIT workout, or playing with her cat. Charissa’s current dream on deck:
travelling.
