Emily Simpson-Keyes

Program Outreach Specialist, Behavioral Health Workforce Development Initiative (WDI)

MSW, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill

Emily began her career with the Carolina College Advising Corps; a college access program
dedicated to increasing the number of first-generation, low-income, and underrepresented high
school students entering and completing higher education in North Carolina. A product of the public
education system herself, Emily is a two-time graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel
Hill, most recently earning a Master of Social Work in Community, Management, and Policy Practice
in 2020.

Since graduating, Emily has worked in nonprofit operations and has held roles with Arabella
Advisors, the Southern Coalition for Social Justice, and the Community Empowerment Fund. Emily
strives to be an abolitionist social worker and is committed to a lifetime of justice work and
community care. Outside of work, Emily enjoys exploring her West Seattle neighborhood, hiking,
and spending time with her spouse and very spoiled rescued racing greyhound, Ginny.
