Jon Torres

Research Coordinator, Partners for our Children | PhD Student

Jon Torres, LICSW, is a father, second-generation Filipinx American, first-generation college student, and a veteran of the Marine Corps. He earned his Associate of Arts at Bellevue College (Formerly community college) and attended courses at Miramar and Palomar colleges in CA. Jon completed his Bachelor of Arts in Social Welfare and Master of Social Work at the University of Washington, making him a “triple Husky.” Jon is experienced in nonprofit community mental health and university settings, and held positions as a therapist, case manager, care coordinator, and suicide interventionist. He currently serves as a Research Coordinator at Partners for Our Children, where he is part of the Alliance Evaluation Team. Jon’s research interests focus on historical and cultural trauma and its impact on health conditions such as cardiovascular risk and diabetes within Asian American and Immigrant communities. Furthermore, Jon’s interest lies in developing innovative ways to collaborate with communities in implementing community-driven health initiatives. He is passionate about disrupting intergenerational trauma and promoting wellness in marginalized communities.
