Tess Abrahamson-Richards

PhD Student

Tess Abrahamson-Richards (she/her) is a citizen of the Spokane Tribe and 5th year Ph.D. candidate in Social Welfare. She has partnered with Indigenous communities for 14 years to advance equity for Native families and children prenatal – 3 years old. Her doctoral scholarship is the first to investigate state paid family and medical leave policies through the lens of Indigenous people’s outcomes and has won multiple awards. Abrahamson-Richards also serves as the Director of Data Sovereignty at Hummingbird Indigenous Family Services.
