The University of Washington School of Social Work Doctoral Program Steering Committee commissioned a Social Justice Subcommittee in 2009 as a response to student efforts to focus on the alignment of stated social justice priorities with the curriculum, practices, and culture of the doctoral program. This permanent subcommittee, composed of both student and faculty members, is charged with coordinating and maintaining a focus on issues of social justice in the doctoral program and allying with similar efforts in the larger school of social work and UW communities.
