Nine UW School of Social Work scientists ranked among top 2% in the world

Nine researchers from the University of Washington School of Social Work are among the top 2% of the world’s most influential scientists in their fields in 2021, according to a Stanford University-Elsevier study.

UW School of Social Work Ranked No. 2 in the Nation

Seattle, WA – The UW School of Social Work ranked No. 2 in the nation, according to the 2023 Best Graduate Schools report released today by U.S. News & World Report. This is the highest ranking the School has received since the initiation of this prestigious national survey.

The University of Washington School of Social Work strongly condemns Vladimir Putin’s unprovoked invasion of the sovereign nation of Ukraine. We stand with the leaders and people of Ukraine, and with all people across the globe who actively oppose this naked act of aggression and who agitate for immediate peace. We support those who protest the war in the streets of Russian cities, at great personal risk.

Khalfani Mwamba and Jennifer Ozawa receive 2022 Roffman Term Faculty Fellowships for Antiracism

Two University of Washington School of Social Work faculty – Assistant Teaching Professor Khalfani Mwamba and Lecturer Jenn Ozawa – are the 2022 recipients of the Roffman Term Faculty Fellowships for Antiracism.

The award enables faculty to expand the School of Social Work’s longstanding commitment to end systemic racism, while advancing its dedication to education, research and service.

Jeffrey Jenson, School alumnus and noted prevention scientist, receives 2022 SSWR Career Achievement Award

Jeffrey Jenson (MSW ’87, PhD ’88), Philip and Eleanor Winn Endowed Professor Emeritus at the University of Denver’s Graduate School of Social Work, received the 2022 Distinguished Career Achievement Award from the Society for Social Work and Research at its annual conference in January in Washington, D.C. Jenson received his doctoral training at the University of Washington School of Social Work in 1988.
