Congratulations to our 2020 teaching award winners, selected recently by our student body from a very distinguished slate of nominees.

The BASW Students’ Choice Teaching Award goes to Jane Macy (pictured left) for the second year in a row. Jane, a part-time lecturer, specializes in organizational design, development and leadership.

The MSW Students’ Choice Teaching Award was a tie. Lecturers Alice Ryan (pictured right) and Steve Wilson will share the honor. Alice also received the MSW Teaching Award in 2019. Her specialty is end-of-life care, grief and loss, and children’s health. Steve’s professional interests include cultural treatment issues, African American mental health, and how children understand race. This spring, Steve was honored by the Washington chapter of the National Organization of Social Workers where he was selected as the 2020 Social Work Educator of the Year.

“We greatly value the extraordinary commitment of each of the faculty members nominated and we recognize the profound impact each has had on our students and our community,” said Tessa Evans-Campbell, associate professor and associate dean for academic affairs.
