Lissan Tibebe is the newest member of the Office of Student Services, where she is the counseling services coordinator.
A Seattle native, Lissan is passionate about social justice, equity and education. She earned undergraduate and graduate degrees from the UW: a bachelor’s degree in international/global studies and an MSW in 2019 from the School of Social Work.
Before joining Student Services, Lissan worked with organizations serving marginalized youth and communities, including Powerful Voices and Washington Building Leaders of Change, both in Seattle. Most recently, she was an education advocate at First Place for Youth in San Francisco, an organization that helps young people in foster care build the skills they need to transition successfully into adulthood.
Lissan is excited about joining the Student Services team and getting to know our students, faculty and staff. As counseling services coordinator, she will provide academic advising and student support.
