On September 27, the president of the American Academy of Social Work and Social Welfare announced that social work professor and dean emeritus Nancy Hooyman has been elected to the academy's board of directors in what Dean Uehara called "a well-deserved honor." University of Washington School of Social Work alum Matthew Howard's (PhD '90) election to the board was announced at the same time—demonstrating that the School continues to makes its mark at the highest levels of social work leadership.
