SSW Tech: IT & Media Services

SSW Tech provides expert IT support and media services for the School of Social Work community. IT support ranges from our computing help desk to instructional services. Media services includes help with video, photography and other media-related products.

Our professional SSW Tech team is here to:

  • Serve students, faculty and staff using technology to enhance instruction, learning and productivity.
  • Support innovative uses of technology in social work education.
  • Cultivate an atmosphere and attitude of life-long learning within our community.
  • Reinforce the School’s mission with equitable access to information that fosters social change with reliable and compelling data.

Access STAR

STAR is a web-based data-management system for SSW students, faculty, staff and community partners. STAR can be access by UW Net-ID and non-UW account holders.

The School provides moderated email lists for official communications to faculty, staff, student cohorts, the overall School community, and other related communities.

Media Lab is located in the basement of the SSW building and offers reservations and setup of various media equipment, and rental materials for course support.
