Stephen T. Wilson, lecturer, has been an adjunct faculty member since 1998. Since that time, he has consistently rated one of the School’s most effective and accomplished instructors.

 

In 2020, he was named the Washington State Social Work Educator of the Year by the National Association of Social Workers. That same year, the School’s student community selected him to receive the MSW Students’ Choice Teaching Award in recognition of his long-standing commitment to the highest standards of teaching.

 

For more than two decades, Wilson has served as a mentor to students of color. He is also deeply engaged with the practice community and has more than 30 years’ experience working with children and adolescents.

 

He received his PhD degree in clinical social work from Smith College in 2017.  He received his MSW from the UW School of Social Work in 1982, and a bachelor’s degree in sociology and psychology from San Francisco State University in 1979.
