Sonia Duckworth, a field liaison and faculty member in the Office of Field Education, is passionate about social justice and empowering youth through education and creativity. Her practice interest and experience focus on community-centered collective engagement, nonprofit strategic planning, management and fundraising. She has a wealth of experience in student recruitment, community-focused partnership development and wellness/mindfulness practice.  

Previous to joining the UW School of Social Work faculty, Carrie taught for eight years at University of Washington, Bothell in the School of Nursing & Health Studies and the School of Interdisciplinary Arts & Sciences where she developed a teaching praxis grounded in principles of critical pedagogy, embodiment, community engagement and multidisciplinarity. 

Brian Walton joined the School of Social Work's Child Welfare Training and Advancement Program in 2019, following ten years with the Department of Children Youth and Families as a social worker and supervisor with the department's Child Family Welfare Services and Family Reconciliation Services.
