The Center for Education Data and Research focuses on the relationship between education and social service policies and practices. Founded in 2010, CEDR examines questions of educational opportunity, access and success, examining them through a quantitative lens. Its researchers are particularly interested in examining policies and interventions that help disadvantaged groups.

One of CEDR’s strengths is its ability to leverage large-scale databases to analyze policies and practices, providing policymakers and practitioners with the information they need to translate data and evidence into action and reform. This helps policymakers in Washington state and elsewhere improve educational outcomes for all students while ensuring the effectiveness of public dollars spent on youth and making smart decisions for the future.
